Goal Planning: 3 Simple Steps to Achieving Your Goals

Step 1 – Write down the goals you want to accomplish

Grab a pen and a piece of paper and write down all of your dreams and goals. Anything that you want to accomplish, put it to paper. Getting things out of your head and in front of you can help you make more sense of all the chaos that can sometimes go on in that creative mind of yours.

Step 2 – Prioritize your goals

Next, pick ONE thing that you want to accomplish first. What goal would you like to have done right away? What can wait a couple of months? If you have 10 ideas written on your sheet of paper, mark beside each one their importance and start with YOUR number one. Doing this will allow you to focus on one thing at a time, therefore accomplishing the task at hand a lot quicker then you would, focusing on multiple ideas.

Step 3 – Break down each goal into manageable steps

This is where the magic happens. Goals are hard to accomplish when you don’t know how to get there and when you feel like that task at hand is too much. Write down bite-sized steps that will help make the task easier to accomplish. For example, if you are planning your very first webinar training, what is the first step you need to take to launch? Researching information for your webinar is probably really important. Step 2 could be to film, the webinar and step 3 would be to promote. When you have the big picture in front of you, it’s easier to focus on the tasks for one step.
